Benefits
wavesight™ uniquely
incorporates building layout in its algorithmic calculations, allowing a three-dimensional
simulation of wave propagation.
This is more accurate than planning tools that only take into
account terrain, or two-dimensional analysis. wavesight™ uses a fully deterministic approach that has the following advantages:
·
No calibration against measurements is necessary; the
tool needs only shape and height of the buildings,
terrain elevation above see level and position, height, transmission power,
azimuth and tilt angles and radiation pattern of the transmitter location, to perform propagation analysis.
·
Scenario analysis. Several locations for the base station
can be simulated on the computer with different power levels and antenna orientations
to allow optimisation of the transmitter location
·
"See" the network wavesight™ can provide a full
coverage analysis, to check transmission quality in every part of the
service area. Areas with insufficient coverage can be identified and
remedied so that network operators need not rely on transmission complaints from customers
Empirical
Models Vs. wavesight™

It is
clear that the coverage in the empirical prediction is
crudely estimated (red area), whereas wavesight™ prediction takes
physical characteristics of cities into account (buildings, streets,
terrain) to compute a precise map. The canyon effect of streets is visible.
